KXTV Sacramento digital transition onscreen message

July 5, 2009 by admin

The last night KXTV’s analog channel was on the air, during the shows they would squeeze the picture to insert this message for a few seconds- this is the last one they showed during “20/20″. Their digital channel switched frequencies after the analog went off, so they wanted to remind people that they might have to reset their digital tuners after that happened. It doesn’t make very clear the fact that if you were watching the analog station, it was going to go COMPLETELY off the air, and if you didn’t even HAVE a digital tuner of any sort you would just be out of luck. Once again they refer to the station itself as “News10″ instead of Channel 10 or something similar, even though they don’t show news all the time.

And I gotta say- that rotating ABC News bug in the corner is A annoying. It looks like they want you to stop watching their stuff on TV and go to their website instead.
