Assemblymember Evans: Shameful Decision by High Court

(Sacramento) After the California Supreme Court released its ruling that upheld Proposition 8, the ban on same sex marriage, several members of the embly Democratic Caucus held a news conference at the state capitol to express their dismay over the decision. emblymember Noreen Evans (D-Santa Rosa) said she was very disappointed that the court chose to allow the discriminatory law to remain in place. She compared it to previous court rulings that banned interracial marriages, denied the right to own property because of race, and justified the internment of Japanese Americans during World War Two.
