The Quest To Bring the Saloon to Old Sacramento Starts
January 2, 2009 by admin
After working in the bar and restaurant business for over 25 years a question popped into my head while visiting the Old Sacramento area of California.
Why is there no Old West Style Saloon in this historic area?
Sure there’s some great saloons like Fanny Ann’s and O Mally’s. There are even a couple great restaurants like The Firehouse and Rio City Grill. But NO Old West Saloon!
So my quest to bring a “Almost Historic Saloon” to the Old Sacramento Area has started.

So how is it going? What is your projected opening date?
To whom it may concern: I have been living in Sacramento midtown area for over 10 years now and have seen the growth and changes of this thriving area. However, being a native Texan with family in Austin and surrounding areas, Sacramento has alot to learn. The nightlife scene is very contrived and reeks of LAesque phoniness. The idea of your saloon sounds very inviting, fun with a come as you are graciousness that allows people to be themselves and have a great time. There definitely needs to be more down to earth, cool, fun bars and live music venues here. Old Sacramento has enough historical landmarks that need to be renovated and supported by not only the locals but visitors as well. In my mind there should be rows of live music venues (blues, country, rock) going on in this historic area as well as theatre and comedy clubs. Austin is the live music capital of the world and the locals support the musicians, film community and arts with great pride which is laking here in Sacramento. They even have stages in the Austin airport with musicians playing for weary travelers with layovers. I am rambling on and on so I will get off my soapbox. I support the idea for this bar, its long overdue.
